ROSE BOWL LEGENDS Ricky Ervins Ricky Ervins was born on December 7, 1968 in Pasadena, California. He was a third round NFL Draft choice in 1991 as a running back for the Washington Redskins out of the University of Southern California and later played for the San Francisco 49ers. As a rookie running back, he was a leading rusher and helped the team win the 1992 Super Bowl. He retired in 1995 with a career record of 8-48. In college, his touchdown run won the 1990 Rose Bowl for USC and he was the game MVP. Ervins went to John Muir High School in Pasadena, CA. Ricky Ervins...came on as a rookie running back in 1991, was a key member of the team rushing for almost 700 yards, and gaining 72 in Super Bowl XXVI. Ricky played with the Redskins from 1991 to 1994. His 5 consecutive 100-yard rushing games in 2005 (Arkansas, Oregon, Arizona State, Arizona State, Notre Dame) was the first time a Trojan did that since Ricky Ervins also had 5 in a row in 1989. He has rushed for 100 yards 11 times in his career (8 times in 2005, the most in a season by a Trojan since Ricky Ervins had 9 in 1989). His 5 consecutive 100-yard rushing games in 2005 (Arkansas, Oregon, Arizona State, Arizona State, Notre Dame) was the first time a Trojan did that since Ricky Ervins also had 5 in a row in 1989. He has rushed for 100 yards 11 times in his career (8 times in 2005, the most in a season by a Trojan since Ricky Ervins had 9 in 1989). He went into startup company consulting and is also currently into Xtreme Xplosions, which trains young athletes on North Virginia. |
